Three Design Awards at
DESIGNCON 2022

After two years apart, the franchise owners at Decorating Den Interiors were back together for DESIGNCON 2022 for a week of appreciation, awards and further education.

At the Dream Room Awards ceremony, Kathy received two design awards for her work which was judged by a panel of famous designers and magazine editors from publications such as Elle Décor, Veranda and Traditional Home.

Kathy also received 1st place in the Comfortex design competition with monthly entries from the prior year (Comfortex is one of Kathy’s favorite suppliers.)

2021 Design Winner

Interior designer Kathy McGroarty’s stunning stone room design won 1st place in the Living Room category of the People’s Choice design competition, placing 3rd overall in an interior design competition judged by the general public. The living room also received 2nd place in the Window Treatments category of the 37th Dream Room Awards competition held annually by franchise company Decorating Den Interiors. Winning on Zoom!

They weren’t together, they were on Zoom instead. Interior designers from America and Canada came together for the ultimate award session at the 51st Annual Decorating Den Interiors Conference. It was different and lots of fun.

Kathy was honored with three awards including the ultimate Franchise Owner of the Year.

Franchise Owner of the Year

Kathy McGroarty, owner of the Decorating Den Interiors franchise in Lansdale, was named Franchise Owner of the Year, the highest award presented by Decorating Den Interiors, North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company.

Local Interior Designer Made Chair

Kathy was recently elected Chair of the Leadership Council of Decorating Den Interiors, which represents some 250 interior design business owners throughout the U.S. and Canada. She is beginning her second three-year term on the council having been re-elected by fellow franchisees.

at High Point Market 2019

This year Kathy took a favorite client to High Point Market in North Carolina to select furniture and furnishings for her new home. Thousands of furniture and home décor professionals convene at High Point Market twice a year, creating an ideal environment for networking and fostering relationships with new vendors. It’s the place to go to share ideas and best practices, engage with top tastemakers, and stay ahead of the latest trends.

Kathy has been attending the Decorating Den Interior’s  2019 Annual Conference this week. At the Award Banquet last night where franchise owners are acknowledged for their beautiful design work and sales, Kathy was honored with the Director’s Award.
